Strategic Planning:
First Action: Scan the environment and select key issues…

Summary:
Strategy development began with outlines of CCAC's historical and contemporary projects conducted over the last ten years.

A final selection of critical issues became the subject of detailed reviews balanced with the record of recent accomplishments that currently define CCAC services. This data is supplemented with:

  • Interviews to define staff and client perceptions of issues and the use of CCAC's services.
  • Review of characteristics linking design studies, community plans, with primary and secondary research conducted by CCAC and,
  • Recommendations for expanding services technical assistance, education and training, public policy and advocacy.

CCAC has demonstrated a track record (share of the market) in the following areas:

  • Technical Services:
Urban Design, Landscape Architecture and Architecture Services.
  • Education and Training:
    Community and business development programs
  • Public Policy Assessments:
Continuous problem defining and solving practices.

These practices connect community-based civic and nonprofit development corporations with common ground issues and facilitates a working relationship with cultural institutions, financial lenders, business advocates and public agencies.
